<p><strong>KASHMIR &#8211; Fifteen people have died after Indian police used live ammunition on a crowd of anti-American protesters in Kashmir.</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Thousands of people defied a curfew on Monday to chant anti-US and anti-Indian slogans, and burn effigies of Barack Obama.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Protests were motivated by reports of Koran desecration  in the United States, but also part of a broader stand-off with the  Indian authorities which has gone on for three months.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Mob attacks government buildings, police facilities and a Protestant school.</li>

<p><strong>KASHMIR: Four people have died after Indian troops opened  fire on crowds protesting an around-the-clock curfew imposed on the  region.</strong></p>

<li>Nineteen people have now died since Friday in protests in Pulwama, Anantnag, Pulgam and Kupwara districts.</li>
<li>Major protests and strikes in opposition to Indian rule   have taken place since early June, when a 17 year-old student was  killed by the police.</li>
<li>Kashmiri Muslims have accused Indian authorities of  using excessive violence, using live ammunition and tear gas to break up  rallies; India says thousands of protesters have been attacking police  stations and government facilities.</li>
