Mark Duffield

Mark Duffield is Professor of Development Politics at the University of Bristol, UK. He is a specialist on war-related emergencies and reconstruction issues. Trained in anthropology and political economy, his field experience includes four years as Oxfam’s Country Representative in the Sudan during the latter half of the 1980s. He frequently comments on the situation in Sudan, as well as Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Alan Fenwick

Alan Fenwick is Professor of Tropical Parasitology in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the Imperial College London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene since 1968. He is an expert commentator on issues of international science collaboration in the field of development, and has managed major collaborative projects between American and Egyptian scientists.
