CAIRO, EGYPT – Today marked the first time Egyptians would participate in one of many rounds of parliamentary elections since the end of former President Hosni Mubarak’s 30-year reign.

Abdallah Schleifer, Ph.D. is a veteran journalist who has covered the Middle East for American and Arab media for more than thirty years. He is Professor Emeritus at the American University in Cairo.
