Dr. Roland Marchal is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), based at Sciences-Po in Paris. He is a specialist on the economics and politics of conflict in sub-Saharan Africa.
He was the chief editor of the French academic quarterly, Politique Africaine from 2002 to 2006.
Dr. Marchal holds his degrees from the Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHEES/School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences) and University Paris VI.
