Metsa Rahimi is a security intelligence analyst at Janusian Security Risk Management. Her role involves political and security intelligence gathering and analysis, both in support of Janusian security operations and directly for clients around the world. This includes a daily intelligence alerting service, responding to security events in the Middle East and North Africa as they happen. She also regularly contributes to Janusian’s intelligence products and publications.
Metsa’s regional areas of expertise include the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, with a particular focus on Iranian security and political issues. She also specialises in nuclear proliferation issues.
She has contributed to several media outlets on these particular subjects, including BBC, Reuters, CNN, and various smaller outlets including print.
Metsa previously worked as a security consultant and operations officer for an NGO operating in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Prior to that, she worked in several leading European think tanks, and headed a programme in Spain on global political Islam, off the back of the Alliance of Civilizations. Metsa has also worked as a journalist, commenting on Iranian affairs, and at the public information department of the UNHCR.
Metsa holds a Masters in International Security from Sciences Po in Paris, a BA in International Studies and French from Warwick University, and a certificate of political studies from the Institute d’Etudes Politiques in Bordeaux. Her postgraduate studies covered a wide range of security issues, with a particular focus on Middle Eastern affairs and nuclear proliferation.
