Matthew Hunt is a senior associate at Janusian, where he works on a range of political and security risk projects, including managing the Aon/Janusian Terrorism Tracker database, live threat map and analytical publications. He has particular interest and expertise in global Islamist terrorism and political risks in Latin America.
Matthew graduated from the University of St Andrews with a Masters in International Relations and Spanish, where he focused on international terrorism. While at St Andrews, Matthew worked on the Latin America desk at the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV), and worked on producing a major energy security conference in conjunction with the Royal College of Defence Studies, London. He is currently working on a part-time law degree at BPP College, London.
Matthew has contributed articles on international security related issues to a number of publications, including Jane’s Intelligence Review and has commented on international security issues to the media, including CNN, Reuters, The Los Angeles Times and Le Figaro.
He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and Chatham House and has participated in a number of international security conferences including the annual IISS Global Strategic Review. Matthew has lived, worked and studied in Latin America, Turkey, Spain and the US. He speaks fluent Spanish.
