Dr. Mikaïl Barah is a Senior Fellow on Middle Eastern issues at IRIS, a Paris-based Institute for International and Strategic Relations. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science.
He is a specialist of Water geopolitical issues, and is part of a project dedicated to the study of Politics, Religion and their interactions in contemporary conflicts.
Dr. Barah is in charge of the Higher Institute for International and Strategic Relations’ Master’s degree in International Relations, and of all the seminaries dedicated to Middle East, North Africa and Water Geopolitical issues.
Dr. Barah joined IRIS on 2002. He worked at the Secrétariat Général pour l’Administration (French Ministry of Defence), and has been in charge of the Paris-based Collège Interarmées de Défense’s training program on Water issues (2005-2007). He graduated in International Cooperation (Master’s Degree) and Arabic and Islamic Civilizations (Master’s Degree).
Dr. Barah is also a Lecturer at the Institute for European Studies of the Université Paris-VIII. He is a member of the Editorial boards of French academic journals Revue internationale et stratégique (RIS) and Confluences Méditerranée.
