Jose Antonio Lisbona is a Professor at the Graduate School of Business Management and Corporate Communications at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.He has been a journalist and author for more than fifteen years, and is an expert on the Jewish minority in Spain, and relations between Spain, Israel and the Arab world.

Mr. Lisbona began his professional career in journalism by writing for La Vanguardia in Barcelona and later worked for the same newspaper in Madrid. He went on to serve for the EFE national press agency as diplomatic correspondent, and later Radio France International as correspondent in chief for Spain, Portugal and the Maghreb between 1991 and 1992. After that, he wrote regularly for El País newspaper.

Mr. Lisbona is an expert on issues such as the Jews in Spain in the twentieth century, relations between Spain, Israel and the Arab world, and Spanish foreign policy. He has written two research books: Return to Sefarad:Spain’s policy towards the Jews in the Twentieth Century and Spain and Israel: A History of Secret Relations. In 2000, he received the Samuel Toledano award for his work.

In addition, Mr. Lisbona is a member of the Advisory Council on Infomedio, an thinktank on Middle East issues. Since 2008, he has been a member of the Advisory Council of Casa Sefarad-Israel, an institution of public diplomacy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain. He has been working now for more than 13 years for Citigate Sanchis in Spain, being its C.E.O. and Managing Director for the last 6 years and Chairman for Spain and Portugal since February 2005. José Antonio is also Chairman of ADECEC (the Spanish Communication and PR Consultancy Association).

Mr. Lisbona holds a B.A. in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid and an M.A. in International Relations from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
